In 2006, while serving as Technical Director on a projection heavy production at Wichita State University, I looked everywhere for a pair of Video Projector Dowsers that would serve our production without breaking our budget...we had two projectors and a small budget. The best deal that I could find on two video dousers was still 20% of our total production budget. The solution that we finally came up with involved Cardboard, Gaff Tape, a Paint Pole and a Small Freshman with strong arms and shoulders.
Our next production requiring video dowsers for projections was in a small blackbox setting...with no place to hide the Freshman. After some late nights, soldering burns and a few toasted chips (I.C.s, not Nachos) I came up with the prototype for the Pro-Dowser DMX Controlled Video Projector Dowsing System.
